WHAT'S GOING ON?
We are glad you are here and we appreciate the confidence that you have shown in us by choosing to be a member of this congregation. As a new member you probably want to become involved in the activities here but you may not be aware of what exactly is available to you. This very brief overview is designed to help you in that regard. As we go through this very brief description of our activities we have provided various links for you to use in order to obtain additional information.
Obviously, we have regularly scheduled classes and worship services here on our campus including a men’s Bible study at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday mornings year round and three ladies’ Bible studies which meet weekly during the academic school year.
We also provide Bible classes and worship services at several off campus sites.
Kirby Pines Senior Living Community: a Bible study at 10:00 a.m. each Thursday and a worship service at 8:00 a.m. each fifth Sunday. We also provide transportation for the folks at Kirby Pines to and from our worship services and Bible classes on Sunday and Wednesday nights.
The Village at
Our Prison Ministry provides Bible classes and worship services at several of the prisons in this area.
Each year well over one hundred of our young people participate in the Lads To Leaders and Leaderettes Program. Most of these activities occur on Sunday afternoons.
The Germantown Church of Christ sponsors a Girl Scout Troop, a Boy Scout Troop, and a Cub Scout Pack. These groups normally meet on Monday nights in room #122.
On the second and fourth Monday nights a Career Transition Group meets in our building. Another Career Transition Group meets on the first and third Tuesday nights. Both of these groups meet in room #120.
On the second and fourth Tuesday nights of each month our Heirloom Stitchers meet to learn how to do needlework and to make items for various people and groups. This group meets in our Fellowship Hall.
During the school year, the Germantown Church of Christ Pre-School meets in our building. This school provides a safe learning experience for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old.
Several times a year Glenn Daily leads a Men's Challenge Group and a Women's Challenge Group. these groups usually meet on Tuesday nights.
For most of the year Bob Straw and his "Green Apron Crew" prepare and serve a Wednesday night meal each week.
From 7:00 until 8:00 a.m. each Thursday the Sunrisers Toastmasters club meets in room #122 of our building.
Our Heart Groups usually meet during the second weekend of each month. These groups are an excellent way to get to know other members of the congregation. This is especially true for our newer members.
Summer Series - This is the Life - Every Wednesday night until September 1st.
Although there are many more activities that could be listed, you can see from this brief overview that there is a lot going on at the Germantown Church of Christ.
