Adult Bible Classes

 

Sunday Morning Adult Classes

Sunday 9:30 a.m.

September through November 2010

 

Auditorium Class

Walter Edge and Glenn Daily will lead this class in a study of, “The Gospel of John.”  This class will be an in-depth study. The Gospel of John contains many of the foundation teaching of the identity of Christ and His message to save man. 

 

Faith Builders Class—Fellowship Hall Rooms #1 & 2

This class alternates between a textual study and a topical study.  Dave Phillips is the teacher and will lead them in a “Topical Study.”  They will be considering several different topics.

 

Fellowship Hall Class—Fellowship Hall Rooms #3 & 4

This class is taught by Larry Scroggs.  He will lead this class in a study of “Romans—Righteousness in God.”  Larry will consider the important concepts of redemption, grace, mercy, love and the cross. 

 

30’s Class—Room 120

This class is for young adults in their 30’s.  Derek Graham will lead this class in a study of, “1 Corinthians-Church Problems.”  They will examine several challenges facing the church in Corinth.  Paul is trying to help this church overcome and be the church that God intended.

 

Hope of Glory Class—Room 123

Ron Roberson will lead this class in a study of, “1 Peter—Rejoice in Living Hope.”  Peter encourages these Christians that are suffering for the faith to be faithful.  He also tells them the end of all things is near.

 

Caring Class—Room 124

The Caring Class is a discussion class. Tom Donaldson will lead this class in a study of, “1 Timothy—Teachings for the Church.”  They will consider and discuss how to be faithful to the word, your tasks, and people who need you. 

 

Cornerstone Class—Room 128

Byron Howell is the teacher for this discussion class. They will study, “Christian Ethics in Business & Everyday Life.” This discussion class focuses on ethical dilemmas addressed by Biblical characters along with relevant, Biblical teachings in order to encourage us to live honorably. Some insights will also come from recent doctoral studies research on the topic of ethics.

 

Living Proof Class (Young Professionals 20’s)—Room 129

Lynn Patterson & Smith Hopkins will lead this discussion class in a study of “The Gospel of Mark.” This class is designed to encourage fellowship and study for singles and couples in their 20’s.  They will discuss the life of Christ.

 

Good News Class—Room 130

Eddie Lewis will lead this class in a study of, “Questions About the Trinity.”  They will study scripture teachings about each person in the Godhead.  Also, they will consider teachings in Scripture about Satan, Heaven, and Hell.

Wednesday Night Classes
Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
September through November 2010

Auditorium Class— “Acts of the Apostles”

Ron Roberson will lead this class in a study of the beginning and development of the church.  They will consider Peter and Paul’s ministry in spreading the boarders of the kingdom.

 

Room 120—“Men of God: Character Studies from Scripture”  (Men’s Class)  Zach Shappley & Jason Speed will lead the men in a study of  some of the great Bible characters.  They will consider some of the attributes that made these men spiritual leaders and some of their weakness that made them struggle with sin.  What can we learn from their lives?

 

Room 123— “Walking Through the Old Testament”

Glenn Daily will lead this class in a study of several of the minor prophets in the Old Testament.  Each class will be an over view of the book and then consider some of the important lessons taught in that book.

 

Room 124— “Worship the Lord with Gladness”

Curtis Morris will lead this class in a study of how we can equip ourselves to better serve and worship God.  Men and women of all ages who desire to strengthen or improve their worship or service to the Lord with gladness should attend.

 

Room 128— “Lessons from Ancient Biblical Cities”

Dave Phillips will lead this class in a study of many archeological sites that he visited on his trip to the Holy Lands.  They will discuss the Biblical importance of each site and how that relates to our walk of faith.

 

Room 129— “I Am Your Sister” (Women’s Class)

Andrea Bartley will lead the ladies in a discussion of how to build relationships.  They will discuss things that divide woman and talk about ways to overcome these things.
