A Ministry Among Those Who Are 55 and Above

Those of us who have been blessed with a long life should be some of the Lord's greatest servants. We have years of blessings for which to be grateful. We have years of experience in what it takes to get things done. We have years of study that makes us well acquainted with the will of God. Many of us also have more time to devote to the Lord's work.

Therefore, many of our "more mature members" are actively involved in the various ministries of the Germantown church, and that is good. We need to have that inter-generational interaction. It helps us to understand and appreciate people in other age groups. It also provides an opportunity for us to pass along the lessons that we have learned through the years.

However, there are times when those of us that are older need to spend some time with others our own age. We need the fellowship of other brothers and sisters in Christ who share some of the same memories, and have some of the same preferences. We need to be with other faithful saints who walk a little slower, think a little longer, and still manage to enjoy life in spite of the obstacles we've had to overcome. God has been good to us, and so, in this ministry among those who are 55 and above we continue to study, serve, and share with others who see things from our perspective.
